The Story of Shirokuma Curry “MUTSUMIYA” was based on the founder’s love for ramen and the soup bases that have made ramen a national dish in Japan. It was not long before TAKE and his ramen restaurant were receiving national acclaim and in 2000. “MUTSUMIYA” ramen restaurant and the name became synonymous with ramen in Japan. In 2001 “MUTSUMIYA” was again honored and a cup noodle flavor was launched with the taste of MITSUMIYA “Kita no Megumi” this was produced by one of the largest Japanese F&B corporations Myojo Foods Co. Ltd (now a part of Nissin Foods Asia). Besides ramen, a wide variety of side dishes can be found on the menu in the Hokkaido Ramen Shop “MUTSUMIYA”. Among the various side dishes of “MUTSUMIYA” is the ever popular curry rice which proved to be especially popular with regular guests. Actually the curry dish evolved as a byproduct of the ramen and in the beginning it was served as a staff meal. It wasn’t until one day when a regular guest to the ramen shop requested to have the curry rice staff meal as his meal did the news spread. After that day word spread quickly and soon many were asking to try the delicious curry rice. Then the curry rice became a secret of “MUTSUMIYA” off the menu and soon became a popular main stream dish on the menu. |
